Fort Bragg to Implement ID Card Appointment Only System
Media Advisory from Fort Bragg Public Affairs Office

FORT BRAGG, N.C. - Fort Bragg will implement an identification card
appointment only system at the Soldier Support Center main ID card facility,
effective Oct. 1, to better service personnel in a more timely manner. Â Â Â Â
"Implementing an appointment system will not only allow us to
streamline our processes but also provide the best experience possible for
our customer by reducing wait times," said Mark Jordan, directorate of Human
Resources Military Personnel division chief. Â Our goal is to have a new
identification card in your hand within 30 minutes." Â Â Â Â Â
The appointment system will affect military service members, family
members, retirees, civilian work force and contractors. Â Â Â Â Â

Jordan said Fort Bragg's directorate of Human Resources supports on
average 286 ID cards customers per day using a combination of walk-in
requests and appointments. Â On average, Jordan said walk-in customers wait
37.5 minutes to get their cards while those with appointments can do so in
18.4 minutes. Â Â Â Â
Each appointment will be allotted 20 minutes. Separate appointments
must be made for each individual receiving an ID card or DEERS enrollment.
Emergency customers or those without appointments will be seen on a case by
case basis, as customers with appointments have priority.

expiration of the ID card. Â He recommends making an appointment as soon as
possible within a 30 day window to ensure appointments are available to meet
the needs of patrons.
Once appointments are made, Jordan said every effort should be made to keep
the appointment. If cancellations are necessary, personnel need to call the
ID Card facility to do so and to reschedule.
