Hazmat Team Called to Gates Four Subdivision

Cumberland County Sheriff’s Deputies are investigating a report of a working chemical lab inside a residence of the Gates Four Subdivision.

At around 3:30 p.m. on Friday, October 19, 2012 deputies received a call from the homeowner at 7116 Holmfield Road. 

When First Responders arrived on scene, there was a chemical odor permeating the area.  Inside the home was an explosives and/or methamphetamine lab setup.

Crews are working to determine what type of lab is inside the home and how best to breakdown the operation.

Meanwhile, residents in the area have been evacuated and will not be allowed to return to their homes until the situation no longer poses a public health or safety threat.
