Cumberland County Sheriff's Detectives have charged a Linden man with the murder of his girlfriend. 44-year old Michael Eugene Overbee of 8099 Flaming Star Drive was charged today with second degree murder in the death of 30-year old <a href="https://patch.com/A-tCl8" rel="nofollow">Heather Nicole Smith</a>.  along the Cape Fear River at around 1:00 p.m. on Sunday, May 27, 2012. Overbee will be processed at the Cumberland County Detention Center on Monday late afternoon. Comments can no longer be left for this story.
