Holly Day Fair Shopping Frenzy

Shopping local resonates with the thousands of shoppers who showed up Friday at the Fayetteville Junior League's 46th annual Holly Day Fair.

Small businesses from Fayetteville, the tri-state area, Charlotte, Charleston, and even Atlanta had festive booths and lines of customers ogling their wares.

Shopping and food seem to go hand-in-hand. A long line of ladies waited for their mini-donuts, while others sampled flavored hot cocoa out of the 10 insulated coffee urns.

Hot sellers appeared to be Christmas tree decorations and wreaths made from the 21" wide metallic mesh ribbon in holiday inspired colors. It can be shaped into loopy wreaths or wound around the tree branches to make your tree shout 'Merry Christmas'! The rolls sold for $12-13 at most booths.

It was estimated that 21,000 shoppers attended last year's four-day extravaganza. Tickets are $9, an ATM machine is on site and the fair runs through Nov. 4 at the Crown Expo Center.
