The film is being shot over a 10-month period in the Wilmington studios.

With a release date of "Iron Man 3" set for May 3, 2013, filming in a Wilmington, N.C., studio has come to a halt after Robert Downey Jr. injured his ankle while performing a stunt, according to an NBC 17 news report.
"There will be a short delay in the production schedule while he recuperates," the studio said in the NBC report.
Not surprisingly, most of the blockbuster sequel is being filmed around the quaint Wilmington area, known for their studios and sets near the beaches. The movie is also being filmed in Miami and China.
