Parents, spouses, friends and children greeted their loved ones at Fort Bragg on Labor Day 2012. Soldiers from the 4th Brigade Combat Team and the 82nd Airborne Division Headquarters returned to Fort Bragg on Monday, Sept. 4. Several paratroopers were welcomed home by children who were born while the troops were serving overseas.

According to WRAL.com some of these troops had been stationed in Afghanistan for six months or up to one year. Returning paratroopers were part of nearly 9,000 82nd Airborne Division soldiers serving in Afghanistan.

Currently two other 82nd Airborne Division brigades are also in Afghanistan, the 1st Brigade Combat Team and the 82nd Combat Aviation Brigade.
