Okinawa Enters Tropical Cyclone Condition of Readiness 3
Pacific Storm Tracker upgrades to a super-typhoon.

Sanba was upgraded to super-typhoon status late Thursday evening, in Japan, by the Joint Typhoon Warning Center according to a Stars and Stripes news report.Â
At 11:30p.m., the winds were recorded at 155-mph sustained with 190-mph gusts at its center, with an expected forecast to peak at 161-mph sustained and 198-mph gusts as it drives north bound heading toward Okinawa, an estimated 37 miles by 9a.m. on Sunday.
The generic name tropical storm is applied to typhoons, cyclones and hurricanes.
