Sgt. Adam Holcomb Sentenced to 30 Days in Prison, Reduced in Rank
The military jury panel determined the sentence, which could have put the soldier in prison for up to two years with a dishonorable discharge for his mistreatment of Pvt. Danny Chen.

On Tuesday the military jurors announced the final sentence to Sgt. Adam Holcomb. The court reconvened at 11a.m. after nearly 1 ½ hours of deliberations.
Holcomb’s sentence was a reduction in grade to an E-4 for one month and to be confined for 30 days.
The pay grade of a Specialist equates to $1,181. 55 per month.

Holcomb will begin his confinement today upon leaving the courthouse and it has not been determined in which state Holcomb will be confined, many factors will be taken into account.
Holcomb was the first of eight soldiers from Fort Wainwright, Alaska, to be tried in connection to the death of Pvt. Danny Chen.
