Two 82nd CAB Soldiers Killed
On Sept. 5, two Fort Bragg Warrant Officers died when their helicopter crashed
Fort Bragg and Texas are mourning the loss of two soldiers. Both were supporting a mission in "Operation Enduring Freedom." The Department of Defense says they died September 5th, in Logar Province, Afghanistan.
Identified as 28 year-old Chief Warrant Officer Thalia S. Ramirez from San Antonio and 31 year-old Chief Warrant Officer Jose l. Montenegro Jr. from Houston. She was on her second deployment and he was on his third.
They died from injuries sustained after their aircraft crashed. The official report says they were in a two person helicopter, an OH-58D Kiowa Warrior, when it went down. The cause of the crash is under investigation.

They were both assigned to the 1st Squadron, 17th Cavalry Regiment, 82nd Combat Aviation Brigade, at Fort Bragg.
