Florida Man Extradited to Cumberland County to Face Sex Crime Charges

A registered sex offender has been extradited from a Florida jail to Cumberland County, to face sex charges involving a five year old child.

Jeremy John Wahl, 37, of 50 Hidden Cove Drive, Valparaiso, Florida is being held in the Cumberland County Detention Center under a $250,000 bond.

He is charged with first degree statutory sex offense, sexual act by a substitute parent and taking indecent liberties with a minor.

The investigation determined that Wahl had more than one encounter with the child between March first and April second of this year, while he was babysitting her.  The child’s mother was at work during this time.

Wahl made his first appearance in District Court Tuesday afternoon.
