• Man wounds two, kills self near Franklinton (wakeweekly.com) — A Granville County man shot a man and woman at a Grand Oak Road address in Franklinton on Tuesday afternoon, then later died from a self-inflicted gunshot wound after hours of negotiations. Both victims were taken to Duke Hospital, where the woman is in fair condition and the man remains in critical condition. Authorities issued a shelter-in-place and evacuated nearby residents during the standoff.
