The club now faces a possible liquor license suspension unless it pays a fine by early January, and several people have been charged in connection with alleged drug sales.

How Real Time Crime Center helped track suspect in fatal hit-and-run crash (wsoctv.com) — A Gastonia cyclist’s fatal hit-and-run in October was traced using the Gastonia Police Department’s Real Time Crime Center, which followed camera footage from an intersection to the suspect’s neighborhood. Investigators matched bumper pieces and surveillance videos from multiple locations, leading to an arrest and a $500,000 bond, while raising questions about how extensively police cameras can now track vehicles around town.

Powerball ticket sold in Cumberland County wins $50,000 in Saturday drawing (cbs17.com) — A Powerball ticket bought in Gastonia that included the Power Play option matched all five white balls in Saturday’s drawing and won $2 million, making it North Carolina’s biggest winner that night.
