Guilford College: History Department Presents Annual Lecture

The Guilford College Department of History will host the annual Rembert W. Patrick Lecture from 7 to 8:30 p.m. on Wednesday, March 16, in the Community Center on campus.

The lecture, titled “Women Rebels and Revolutionaries in World History: Kandake Amanirenas, Chand Bibi, Lenora Fulani,” will be presented by Dr. Omar H. Ali, dean and professor at Lloyd International Honors College at the UNC Greensboro. This is a timely and important topic to mark Women’s History Month this year.

Dr. Ali received his Ph.D. in History from Columbia University in 2003 and has published several books on Comparative African Diaspora and African American studies. The lecture will be presented in person in the Community Center at Guilford College, with a Zoom link (Meeting ID: 944 4246 2962; Passcode: 593105) available for people who cannot attend in person. Following Guilford’s mask mandate for COVID, everyone attending the lecture in person should wear a mask.
