• Cape Hatteras Lighthouse restoration advances with Fresnel lens completion despite structural challenges (islandfreepress.org) — Ongoing restoration of the Cape Hatteras Lighthouse has hit new milestones, including completion of a custom-built replica Fresnel lens, but newly discovered structural cracks are likely to delay reopening beyond summer 2026. Climbing remains closed through 2025 while engineers sort out complex bracket repairs, though visitors can still explore the surrounding grounds and watch site improvements taking shape.
