Field Of Honor 9/11 Memorial Coming To 2 Huntersville Locations
The flag memorials at Veterans Park and Town Center Lawn will remain in place during the 20th anniversary of 9/11.

HUNTERSVILLE, NC — Field of Honor flag memorials are set to be erected at Veterans Park and Town Center Lawn, and will remain in place during the 20th anniversary of the 9/11 terrorist attacks, the town said.
"Huntersville remembers the innocent loss of life when hijacked planes crashed into buildings and farmland in unspeakable acts of terror. The annual display of flags in Veterans Park reminds us that freedom has a cost," the town said.
The town said it asks members of the community to participate in a moment of silence on Saturday, Sept. 11 between 8:46 a.m. and 10:46 a.m., when the attack occurred two decades ago.

Hundreds of American flags will comprise the Field of Honor locations at Veterans Park, located at 201 Huntersville-Concord Road, and Huntersville Town Center, which is located at 105 Gilead Road.
"The inspiring formation of United States Flags at two locations will bring the community together so that adults may remember, and that youth may learn. It is an experience hard to describe, but never to be forgotten," the town said in a statement.
