• Black History Month Celebration in Huntersville Feb 6 (charlotteonthecheap.com) — Huntersville residents are invited to a free Black History Month celebration on Friday, February 6, 2026, from 6–8 p.m. at the David B. Waymer Recreation Center on Holbrooks Road. The evening will feature live performances and poetry from Drums 4 Life, Jay Ward, and Arsena Todd, and is supported in part by Mecklenburg County’s ASC Culture Blocks program.

• Terry Winnell - WHIZ - Fox 5 / Marquee Broadcasting (whiznews.com) — Family in Huntersville is mourning the loss of Terry J. Winnell, a 76-year-old Navy veteran and retired teacher who passed away at his home in Caldwell, Ohio. His son Ben and grandson Noah, both of Huntersville, are among those cherishing his memory as his cremains are scattered near his home and friends are encouraged to donate to local animal and hospice charities.
