Huntersville K9 Unit Sniffs Out Car Full Of Illegal Drugs

K-9 Kado gave an alert after a traffic stop and police were able to find marijuana, edibles and file charges against the driver.

HUNTERSVILLE, NC — The Huntersville Police Department is giving kudos to their K9 Kado after he discovered a car full of illegal drugs Wednesday.

HPD says they stopped a vehicle for speeding on Old Statesville Road in town, and had their K9 circle the car. Kado alerted police there were drugs in the car, and they searched the car and discovered dozens of packages of edibles, marijuana and a handgun.

The driver was charged with possession with intent to manufacture, sell, deliver a schedule one substance, possession with intent to sell, deliver marijuana and felony maintaining a vehicle for controlled substances as well as possession of paraphernalia.
