Huntersville Police Looking For Park Vandalism Culprits

Two parks suffered thousands of dollars in damage the first week of the new year.

HUNTERSVILLE, NC — The Huntersville Police Department is searching for people who caused thousands of dollars in damages at two local parks, according to law enforcement.

Both Bradford Park on Davidson-Concord Road and North Mecklenburg Park on Old Statesville Road suffered extensive damage in and around their men's restroom area.

Police say they believe some type of fireworks were set off that caused the damage to sinks, doors and even a water fountain.

An AED, a life-saving defibrillator, was also stolen. They can cost more than $1,000 to replace, according to the AED website.

Police believe this happened around New Year's Eve and want to catch the culprits.
