3 Lake Norman Towns Participate In Mayors' Fitness Challenge

As an extra incentive to develop healthy habits, the mayor's fitness challenge can motivate people in Huntersville, Davidson and Cornelius.

HUNTERSVILLE, NC — It's a friendly, three-town competition called the Mayors' Fitness challenge, and it's all centered on physical fitness.

Registration is now open for the 2022 Mayors' Fitness Challenge pitting Huntersville, Cornelius and reigning champion Davidson against each other to win the title of "fittest town."

The challenge is open from March 6 until April 30, eight weeks total.

Each week, residents will record their active minutes and try to lead their town to the title of “Fittest Town.” The town with the highest average total at the end of the eight weeks will be awarded the trophy.

The Kick-Off Event will be held Sunday, March 6 at North Mecklenburg Park, 16131 Old Statesville Road in Huntersville, from 1- 3 p.m.
