Mecklenburg County Park and Recreation offers these chairs at several centers, but the Huntersville location gives local users a nearby, no-cost way to enjoy rugged paths with a simple phone, online, or in-person booking.

• Newsmaker Breakfast: Buying land a priority for Cornelius Parks and Rec (corneliustoday.com) — Cornelius is racing to buy large tracts of land for future parks as development tightens options, and its Emerald Necklace trail already connects into greenways in Huntersville and Davidson. Huntersville also partners with Cornelius and Mecklenburg County on shared greenway and sports projects, which could eventually include a North Mecklenburg sportsplex to draw more tournaments and visitors to the area.
