• Fire displaces five, injures one in Lexington blaze (abc45.com) — A late-night house fire at 105 Fair Street in Lexington sent one man to Lexington Medical Center and displaced five adults. Firefighters contained the blaze within 30 minutes, and local fire, police, EMS, and the Fire Marshal’s Office are now investigating the cause of the incident.
   

• Hickory Police Investigate Early Sunday Homicide Involving Lexington Man, Suspect Identified but Not Charged (hoodline.com) — A 25-year-old Lexington resident was fatally shot early Sunday in Hickory after what police describe as a domestic dispute that continued into the city by car. Hickory officers have identified a Granite Falls man as the shooter but have not filed charges yet, and investigators are asking anyone with information to contact them as they work to clarify what happened.
   

• Davidson County Board of Commissioners passes resolution expressing concern on Transco's SSEP (appvoices.org) — Davidson County commissioners have reversed course and passed a resolution urging state and federal regulators to withhold permits for Transco’s Southeast Supply Enhancement Project, which includes a major compressor station expansion northwest of Lexington. Citing safety, health, and environmental justice concerns for nearby neighborhoods and schools, local residents and advocacy groups say the project would bring pollution and risk without clear benefits to the Lexington area.
