• Monroe charter school faces immediate closure after board finds it was ‘operating illegally' (wsoctv.com) — Families in Monroe are facing sudden upheaval after Monroe Charter Academy was ordered to close immediately for operating remotely without proper approval while awaiting a move to Matthews. State officials froze funding and revoked the school’s charter, leaving K-8 students and parents scrambling for options just weeks after classes shifted online without authorization.
   

• House hit by at least 10 bullets with young kids inside in Union County (wbtv.com) — A Monroe home on West Sunset Drive was struck by at least 10 bullets early Wednesday while young children and older adults were inside, but no one was hurt. Police say at least two shooters fired from nearby Sunset Park’s baseball fields and are asking Monroe residents and businesses to check security footage and call detectives with any tips.
