Here are the top three stories in Mooresville today:
- Spreading the holiday spirit, according to the Mooresville Tribune, "Center Stage Alliance is proud to present its holiday show, βChristmas Belles.β Prepare to laugh as the audience is taken back to Fayro, Texas for this Southern-fried, heart-warming Christmas comedy. A church Christmas program spins hilariously out of control in this farce about squabbling sisters, family secrets, a surly Santa, vengeful sheep and an Elvis impersonator. The next shows will be held on Dec. 15 through 17. Advanced tickets are highly recommended, as shows are expected to sell out. The cost is $16 on the website, www.centerstagealliance.org, or $20 at the door, if seats are available. The shows will be held near by at New Salem United Methodist Church, located at 155 New Salem Road, Statesville." Hope to see you there! (Mooresville Tribune)
- According to RacinToday.com, "Kyle Busch will truly be stylinβ in his debut NASCAR Cup Series ride with Richard Childress Racing. RCR has introduced the stylized No. 8 that will identify the two-time Cup championβs Chevrolet Camaro ZL1 in 2023. The revamped/stylized No. 8 was personally designed by βRowdyβ and his team with input from team-owner Childress and RCR. The revised number honors its past while announcing the presence Busch brings to the 54-year-old organization. The merger of one of NASCARβs most storied teams with one of the sportsβ most successful drivers of the Modern Era was announced on Sept. 13." (RacinToday.com)
- Two men were arrested outside Lake Shore Elementary school. According to WBTV, "Iredell Sheriff Darren Campbell said several deputies pursued the men after Troutman Police reported an armed robbery on Tuesday. Police arrested 30-year-old Ibrahim Nabay Jalloh and 39-year-old Michael Terrance Calvin off Lakeshore School Road. Campbell said Jalloh could be in the area because he had a child at Lake Shore Elementary. Patrol deputies set up a stop at the school entrance based on Jallohβs criminal history involving 10 outstanding warrants. They found the suspectβs gray Lexus on Perth Road and stopped it near Wilson Lake Road. The driver of the vehicle, Jalloh, gave false information to authorities, deputies said. During the stop, authorities identified his passenger as Calvin. Deputies searched the car and found an AR-style pistol with a fully loaded 10-round magazine. They discovered more than 18 grams of cocaine, Percocet, marijuana and other drug paraphernalia. Jalloh was arrested and transported to the magistrateβs office at that time. Jalloh got a $428,000 secured bond on charges including Felony Possession of a Firearm by a Convicted Felon, Felony Possession of Cocaine and Felony Possession with Intent to Sell or Deliver, as well as other drug charges."(WBTW)
