- According to a Facebook post from the Mooresville Police Department: "On December 29, at approximately 9:30 p.m., Mooresville Police Department Officers responded to a call of shots fired in the area of Cascade Gardens Apartments at 707 Cascade Street in Mooresville. Upon arrival, a 16-year-old juvenile male suffering from a gunshot wound was located. The victim was transported by Iredell County EMS to CMC Main in Charlotte for treatment and is expected to recover from his injuries. Responding officers secured the scene and detectives responded to begin an investigation. During the investigation, detectives learned that neither the victim nor the suspect were residents of the Cascade Gardens Apartments but had agreed to meet there under the false pretext of conducting a transaction that originated online. ... Travarion Demetrius Covington, 19, of Mooresville was identified as the suspect that shot the victim. ... The second suspect taken into custody is a 17-year-old juvenile from Mooresville. ... Anyone who has information about this incident or the identity of the third suspect, please contact the MPD at 704-664-331 and speak with Sgt. G. Lawing or Det. D. Cooper." According to the Mooresville Chamber of Commerce Facebook post, "the North Carolina Auto Racing Hall of Fame is happy to welcome its newest member of the North Carolina Auto Racing Hall of Fame and museum. ... - According to the Mooresville Chamber of Commerce Facebook post, "Congratulations [goes] to Akari Bailey for receiving the ESL Teacher of the Quarter Award from the ESL Department. Bailey supports our multilingual students at East Iredell Elementary School and Collaborative College for Technology and Leadership- CCTL.
