Here are the top three stories in Mooresville today:

  1. Help your school win! The Mooresville Graded School District is currently moving forward with the District's Annual Campaign for United Way of Iredell County (UWIC)! According to the MGSD Facebook page post, "this local organization shares in the work of our school system by fighting for the health, education, and financial stability of every individual in Iredell County. UWIC funds 25 local non-profit partners who work to improve school attendance; support families to increase the kid’s stability at home; addressing the grief needs of our children; keeping children fed, safe, and housed; and so much more! Join in the giving back to this important work as we Unite Iredell and become stronger together. Pledges can be completed by noon, October 28. You can pay via credit card or check/cash. Make sure to let us know which school you are connected to so that we can have a friendly competition to see who raises the most funds per student/staff population! Enter your pledge today by visiting: https://bit.ly/MGSD2022-23. Or text the number 41444 with the message “MGSD”."(Mooresville Graded School District via Facebook)
  2. 3. Jay Wilson of Mooresville High School has been chosen as The Charlotte Observer’s high school football defensive player of the week. According to the Charlotte Observer, "After more than 17,000 votes, Wilson finished ahead of Myers Park’s Win Byerley and Porter Ridge’s Stephan Zayachkowsky. In a 40-28 come-from-behind win over Providence, Wilson had a game-sealing interception, plus six tackles and three pass breakups." Great job Jay. (Charlotte Observer.com)
