  1. From December 13th through December 17th North Carolina residents can buy a goat or an acre of sweet potatoes from a vending machine! According to Mooresville Tribune, "The Light the World Mobile Giving Machine will be near the fountain in Charlotte’s Promenade on Providence shopping complex, located one block north of I-485 on Providence Road. [This] bright red vending machine works by giving people an opportunity to buy much-needed items for local and global charities. However, instead of buying the usual junk food that drops down to the bottom of the vending machine, people can insert their credit card into these special giving machines and donate a goat for a needy family in Africa or an acre of sweet potatoes for another family in Asia. And in Charlotte, people will also be able to use the Light the World Mobile Giving Machine to support two local charities β€” Carolina Refugee Resettlement Agency and Loaves & Fishes/Friendship Trays β€” and buy such items as a soft pillow and warm blanket for a newly arrived refugee or a week’s worth of groceries for a family in need. "(Mooresville Tribune)
  2. Looking for a new house, and want to get a better understanding of what's available near you? Perhaps you could use some help finding the perfect place for you and your loved ones? Never fear! To help simplify your search, we've got a fresh batch of five new listings. Here are the five most recent properties to hit the market in and around the Mooresville area β€” including one in the Troutman area with 3 beds and 3 baths for $319,900, and another with 5 beds and 3 baths for $500,000.(Mooresville Patch)
  3. Spreading the holiday spirit, according to the Mooresville Tribune, "Center Stage Alliance is proud to present its holiday show, β€œChristmas Belles,” opening this week. Prepare to laugh as the audience is taken back to Fayro, Texas for this Southern-fried, heart-warming Christmas comedy. A church Christmas program spins hilariously out of control in this farce about squabbling sisters, family secrets, a surly Santa, vengeful sheep and an Elvis impersonator. The shows are at 7:30 p.m. on Dec. 8 through Dec. 10 and next weekend Dec. 15 through 17. Advanced tickets are highly recommended, as shows are expected to sell out. The Dec. 10 show is sold out. Cost is $16 on the website, www.centerstagealliance.org, or $20 at the door, if seats are available. The show will be held near by at New Salem United Methodist Church, located at 155 New Salem Road, Statesville." Hope to see you there! (Mooresville Tribune)
