Today in Mooresville:
- Town Board Meeting - Town of Mooresville (6 p.m.)
From my notebook:
- Mooresville Parks & Recreation: "Juneteenth (short for “June Nineteenth”) marks the day when federal troops arrived in Galveston, Texas in 1865 to take control of the state and ensure that all enslaved people be freed. The troops’ arrival came a full two and a half years after the signing of the Emancipation Proclamation. Juneteenth honors the end to slavery in the United States and is considered the longest-running African-American holiday." (Mooresville Parks & Recreation via Facebook)
- Nextdoor Neighbor, Beacon Pointe: "Is anyone missing a black and white looks like cattle dog? He’s running around my yard on Marietta. I couldn’t catch him as he’s super fast and appears shy. He last ran through chasing a deer." (Nextdoor)
- Mooresville Parks & Recreation: "Join Destination Recreation out at Hope Park on Friday, June 24 from 9 - 11 a.m. for Sand Art Creations! We can't wait to bring the fun to YOU!" (Mooresville Parks & Recreation via Facebook)
