• Fourth graders invited to create original county flag design as part of America 250 NC initiative (statesville.com) — Fourth graders in Iredell County can help shape local history by designing a new county flag and turning in entries at any Iredell County Public Library or Mooresville Public Library through January 31, 2026. The project is part of the America 250 NC initiative, giving Mooresville families a creative, hands-on way to celebrate the nation’s upcoming 250th birthday.
   

• Cities with the fastest-growing home prices in the Charlotte metro area (sanfordherald.com) — Mooresville’s typical home value has climbed to about $477,000, up roughly $4,200 over the past year and nearly $155,000 in five years, ranking it among the pricier Charlotte-area markets. A new metro-wide analysis from Zillow and Stacker shows how Mooresville compares with nearby communities, highlighting just how much local home prices have surged since 2018.
   

• Keller, Lindenmuth contribute to West's dominance in All-Star game (wataugademocrat.com) — Mooresville defensive standout Kamdon Gillespie made his mark in the North Carolina East-West All-Star football game by returning an interception 41 yards for a touchdown, helping the West dominate 50–14. The showcase in Greensboro also featured state-champion Watauga players and coaches, with quarterback Cade Keller earning Offensive MVP honors after throwing two second-half touchdown passes.
