• Fourth graders invited to create original county flag design as part of America 250 NC initiative (statesville.com) — Fourth graders in Iredell County can help shape local history by designing a new county flag and turning in entries at any Iredell County Public Library or Mooresville Public Library through January 31, 2026. The project is part of the America 250 NC initiative, giving Mooresville families a creative, hands-on way to celebrate the nation’s upcoming 250th birthday.

• Keller, Lindenmuth contribute to West's dominance in All-Star game (wataugademocrat.com) — Mooresville defensive standout Kamdon Gillespie made his mark in the North Carolina East-West All-Star football game by returning an interception 41 yards for a touchdown, helping the West dominate 50–14. The showcase in Greensboro also featured state-champion Watauga players and coaches, with quarterback Cade Keller earning Offensive MVP honors after throwing two second-half touchdown passes.
