Here are the top three stories in Mooresville today:

  1. David Lewandowski of Mooresville is $218,613 (well actually after required federal and state tax withholdings, he took home $155,762) richer after his Cash 5 win, which almost didn't happen. He went to purchase a ticket for the Sunday jackpot, but admittedly wasn't paying attention, so he didn't do it correctly and had to go back again on Monday to complete his transaction and that's when he matched all five numbers and became a winner! Reportedly, Lewandowski is going to use some of his winnings to put a down payment on a vacation condo. (Mooresville Tribune)
  2. Congratulations to the Lake Norman High School basketball team as it triumphed over the Warriors defeating the defending 4A state champions 74-60 on Tuesday night. Next up, the second-round game between the Wildcats and Eagles tonight. Good luck Wildcats. We are rooting for you! (Statesville Record & Landmark)
  3. Using the internet to shop for a home can make you feel like you're going in circles. While listing photographs can help, they're no replacement for the real thing. That’s why open houses are so convenient: A chance to try before you buy! Ready to start hunting? To jump-start your search, we've put together a list of the five recently listed open houses scheduled in the Mooresville area. That way, you can get a feel for what's available without committing to a house blindly. Here is an address, photo, price and bedroom/bath information for each property listed — such as a home with 5 beds and 4 baths for $695,000, and another with 5 beds and 3 baths for $599,900.
