Here are the top three stories today in Mooresville:
- Celebrate Halloween at the Southside Baptist Church Trunk or Treat Fall Festival. The event will be held at the church on Saturday, October 29 from 2 to 5 p.m. There will be trunks, inflatables, games, food, a cake walk, prizes and free special coffees. Hope to see you there! (Mooresville Chamber of Commerce via Facebook)
- According to the Wilson Post, "the upcoming big All-American 400 weekend just got bigger for Lebanon’s Dylan Fetcho. In addition to racing for the Nashville Fairgrounds Speedway championship on Oct. 30, Fetcho has landed a ride for the day’s main event, the All-American 300. That 300-lap Super Late Model race will be run on the heels of the Pro Late Model 100-lapper in which Fetcho will battle Gladeville’s Hunter Wright for the track title. “It’s definitely exciting,” Fetcho said Wednesday after securing the ride with a veteran Mooresville, North Carolina-based team that has competed in NASCAR’s top Cup level. “There’s a lot on the line, and I’m looking forward to it.”' (Wilson Post)
- If you’re wanting to add a four-legged ball of love and affection to your family, look no further than these Mooresville area shelters for a pet you can take home. There are thousands of dogs, cats and other animals of all ages and sizes without a home across North Carolina — and many of them are located not too far from you. For those looking to adopt, a great place to start your search for your new friend is at Lake Norman Humane, where Lilac the cat is waiting patiently, or another local animal pound. If you aren't sure if you have time to take care of a pet year round, many shelters also offer opportunities to foster pets until they are placed in appropriate homes.(Mooresville Patch)
