- Dena J. King, U.S. Attorney for the Western District of North Carolina announced today that Mooresville resident, 24-year-old Cody Allen Wright has been sentenced to 240 months in prison for possession of child sexual abuse material that involved a prepubescent minor. Additionally, he was ordered to serve a lifetime under court supervision and immediately upon release, he is ordered to register as a sex offender. According to the Mooresville Tribube, "King commended the FBI, the SBI, and the Iredell County Sheriff’s Office for their investigation of the case and thanked the Iredell County District Attorney’s Office for their invaluable assistance."(Mooresville Tribune)
- On Friday afternoon a multi-car crash near Langtree Road in Mooresville closed down Interstate 77 for a while causing a big backup in traffic. The crash was cleared and traffic was once again flowing by around 1:45 p.m. Drive safely out there! (WCNC.com)
