Here are the top three stories today in Mooresville:
- Feeling Fearless? Then sign up to Take the Plunge and support Lake Norman Special Olympics. The event will take place on Saturday, January 7 at the Lake Norman Yatch Club. Registration will open at 12 p.m. and the plunge will kick off at 3 p.m. According to the Lake Norman Polar Plunge, "there will be food trucks, games and activities at the event. There is a $30 resgistration fee. If you raise $50 or more you get a free plunge t-shirt. If you are a person with intellectual disabilities, you encounter adversities daily. You must have courage to try something that doesnβt come easily to you. Our athletes bravely face challenges on the field, in the pool and on the court. They are the inspiration for this event. The funds raised will provide year-round sports training, competition, leadership opportunities, and health services to Special Olympics athletes in our community. Be brrrr-ave and take the Plunge!" Hope to see you there! " (Mooresville Parks & Recreation via Facebook)
- According to Racin Today, "KB Titan Racing has added reigning NHRA Rookie of the Year Camrie Caruso to a 2023 Pro Stock lineup led by five-time world champion Greg Anderson. KB Titan Racing is the rebadged result of a merger announced earlier this week between Titan Racing Engines of Denver, N.C., and KB Racing of Mooresville, N.C. Caruso will join Anderson, Kyle Koretsky and Dallas Glenn in their bids to overtake an Elite Motorsports organization led by five-time/reigning world champ Erica Enders. Caruso is only the fifth female driver to win ROY, an award NHRA first presented in 1990. Camrie is following the career path of her father, former Pro Mod racer Marc Caruso, and grandfather βPapa Joeβ Caruso, who competed in Super Gas, Top Sportsman and Pro Mod."(RacinToday.com)
- The Town of Mooresville has a reminder for residents and visitors, "Over the next few days, people will be driving to and from their holiday destinations. The NCDOT has this reminder to help people navigate all-way stops in Mooresville and surrounding towns. --The first vehicle at the intersection has the right of way-When two or more vehicles reach an intersection at the same time, the vehicle to the right has the right of way and may go straight or turn, if legal and using their signal. When two facing vehicles approach an intersection at the same time, both drivers can move straight ahead or turn right. If one driver wants to turn left, they must yield. -Even with the right of way, drivers should remember to use appropriate turn signals and watch for pedestrians and other vehicles." Safe travels everyone! (Town of Mooresville NC via Facebook)
