Here are the top stories in Mooresville today:
- One person was killed Thursday afternoon in a head-on crash on Mooresville Road (N.C. 150) near Caldwell Road. The North Carolina Highway Patrol reported the crash, which happened shortly after 2:30 p.m., closed the road in both directions for more than an hour. It opened again at approximatley 4 p.m. once the vehicles involved were removed. According to the Salsbury Post, The driver who survived the crash was taken to Carolinas Medical Center NorthEast in Concord.The other driver was declared dead at the scene. One of the cars apparently crossed the centerline, but a state trooper on the scene said no official determinations or notifications to next of kin have been made." (Salisbury Post)

- Get rid of potentially dangerous expired, unused, and unwanted prescription drugs and syringes by dropping them off at Mooresville Police Department’s Drug Take-Back Event. The event will take place on April 22nd at Cannon Pharmacy, 521 E. Plaza Drive, from 10 a.m. – 2 p.m. Don't worry if you can't make it that day.
