Here are the top three stories in Mooresville today:

  1. Mooresville Police Department highlights Tina Canterbury. According to the MPD Facebook post about her, "Canterbury always knew she wanted to help people. While that path has taken several twists and turns in her life, helping others has always been a theme of her careers and her goals. As a dispatcher with Mooresville Police Department, she serves others by providing a vital connection between the community and first responders. Canterbury began her career in law enforcement working dispatch for Statesville Police Department in 2003. After a transition to nursing lasting 15 years (the last 7 ½ years with Hospice), she felt the calling to return to law enforcement, joining MPD as a dispatcher in 2019. Thank you for all you do to help others, Tina! MPD is lucky to have you on the team!" (Mooresville Police Department via Facebook)
  2. When you’re in the market for a new place, keeping tabs on all the latest listings can be a tedious task. That’s why we here at Patch have stepped in and done the initial work for you.
Here's a list of the five most recent properties to hit the market in and around the Mooresville area — including a listing with 3 beds and 3 baths for $354,000, and another with 5 beds and 3 baths for $675,000. Looking for more information on one of the listings? Just click on any address to learn more. Happy house hunting! (Mooresville Patch)
  3. Tammy Jensen has been promoted to chief financial officer at Carolina Caring. According to the Mooresville Tribune, "In her new role, Jensen will oversee the financial initiatives and technological direction of the nonprofit organization, which serves patients who face a serious illness across 12 counties throughout western North Carolina. “Tammy Jensen is a perfect fit for the position of chief financial officer at Carolina Caring,” said President and CEO Dana Killian. “Her knowledge and wealth of experience will be invaluable as we continue to move forward with our plans for growth and long-term sustainability.” (Mooresville Tribune)

Patch deal of the day:

Good knives make all the difference in the kitchen, but you don’t need to overpay for them. Seido Japanese knives are made with strong high-carbon stainless steel (high-carbon knives are more durable and usually more expensive) and have an acute 15-degree angle for a noticeably sharper cutting face (most Western-style knives have edge angles of 25 degrees). For a limited time, Patch readers can get a 5-piece Seido Japanese master knife set for 71 percent off. At just under $70, this chef-quality set is perfect for any home cook and would also make a great gift for the holidays.
