  1. April Kuhn is the Mooresville Graded School District's new chief human resources officer. The MGSD Board of Education announced the news recently. According to an MGSD news release. “Kuhn brings a unique skill set to MGSD as she has served in a variety of roles in support of public education,” Superintendent Jason Gardner said. “She is a fierce advocate for every child and will be an asset to our team.” Currently employed as the chief talent and equity officer for Rowan-Salisbury Schools, she will begin work with MGSD upon release from that position. According to Iredell Free News, "Kuhn said, “I am humbled and excited to serve the staff, students and families of Mooresville. I look forward to working with the stellar educators in MGSD.”'(Iredell Free News)
  2. Don't feed the ducks! That's the request from the Curtis Pond neighborhood HOA. Reportedly, approximately two years ago a member used funds, without permission, to purchase 10 ducks along with food for the ducks, so they could be added to the ducks that were already residents of the neighborhood's pond. Now a total of 37 ducks call the pond home, which has caused the pond’s nitrate levels to rise. According to WSOC, "[the HOA] is investigating the misuse of funds and the association is asking homeowners not to feed the ducks or add more of them." (WSOC Charlotte)
  3. You are invited to a free concert! The Lake Norman Philharmonic (LKN PHIL) is excited to perform at the Mooresville Performing Arts Center on Saturday, April 1, at 7 p.m. Admission is free to the public. Free tickets are available here. Conducted by Maestro Eduardo Cedeño, this concert will feature some very special ensemble performances and a featured guest pianist will accompany the Orchestra to perform the third movement of the Mozart Piano Concerto. Hope to see you there! (Patch)
