Investigations Underway After 2 Killed In 'Suspicious' Fire
Both the house fire and deaths of two people found at the scene in Troutman were being treated as suspicious, ICSO said Wednesday.
IREDELL COUNTY, NC — Authorities have launched fire and death investigations after an overnight blaze at an Iredell County home left two people dead.
The fatal fire occurred after a "domestic situation" and, as of Wednesday, both it and the deaths were being treated as suspicious, Iredell County Sheriff's Office said.
Troutman Fire Department, along with multiple other departments from the area, responded to the home on Loram Drive in Troutman around 9 p.m., where they found it on fire and "fully involved," ICSO said.

According to the sheriff's office, they received a call for assistance in Mooresville around 9 p.m. — around the same time a 911 call was made reporting the fire in Troutman — after an adult son who lived in the Troutman home arrived at his grandmother's home. ICSO investigators responded to both scenes.
"Based on interviews and initial information received, detectives determined that three other people were last known to be in the home on fire," ICSO said. "Information was gathered indicating that in the hours before the fire, the family had been involved in a domestic situation that prompted the one son to leave."
Authorities said autopsies would be conducted to confirm the identities of the victims and their cause of death.
