Here are the top three stories today in Mooresville:

  1. The trusty Farmers' Almanac is calling for some cold, snowy, wintery weather this year. According to the Mooresville Tribune, "the Farmers' Almanac, which has been helping people plan ahead for weather conditions each year since 1818, released its 2022-2023 winter weather forecast last week. Here’s what the Almanac is predicting in North Carolina and the Southeast for this winter. Overall for the U.S., the Farmers’ Almanac is predicting a winter season “filled plenty of shaking, shivering and shoveling.” The 2022-2023 winter season will bring “plenty of snow, rain and mush,” the Almanac’s website says." (Mooresville Tribune)
  2. Nick Hoffman wins again! Keeping up his victorious streak. According to stlracing.com, "Hoffman collected his 21st and 22nd victories of the 2022 season over the weekend behind the wheel of his Wehrs Machine & Racing Products / Outlaw Mini Loaders No. 2 NOS Energy Drink / FOX Racing Shox / Rockwell Security / Elite Chassis Modified. His latest triumphs came after he wired the Modified field at both Indiana’s Paragon Speedway and Illinois’ Adams County Speedway." Congratulations Nick! (stlracing.com)
  3. Bringing the tastes of Italy to the Lake Norman area Acqua Ragazza will be opening in downtown Mooresville at the end of September. Housed at Mill One, 201 N. Church St. the Mediterranean restaurant will take up residency where Mooresville’s first mill once stood. (Charlotte Observer)
