Here are the top three stories in Mooresville today:

  1. Heart of Jazz will take place from 6 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. on Thursday, October 13, at The Venues at Langtree in Mooresville. Purchase your tickets today! The event will feature live musical performances from Ray Georgeson, cardiologist, followed by Mo Money, a five-piece jazz band comprised of the nation’s top studio musicians, songwriters, and producers — all of whom have national performance and recording credits. Mo Money is also the Carolina Panthers’ house band for every game. In addition, Heart of Jazz will have a silent auction, a cash bar, hors d’oeuvres and feature a complimentary signature drink. The generous sponsors that make Heart of Jazz possible include TDS Telecom and BestCo. Also sponsoring Heart of Jazz are Hospice & Palliative Care of Iredell County, Heritage Knitting and Mooresville Ford. Hope to see you there! (Iredell Health System)
  2. Whether you’re actively in the market for a new home or just interested in other properties nearby, you can start your search with five of the newest listings in and around Mooresville featured. Here are the five newest homes to hit the market in the Mooresville area — including a home in the Troutman area with four bedrooms and three bathrooms for $428,400, and another with five bedrooms and five bathrooms for $679,500. (Mooresville Patch)
  3. Looking to add a furry friend to your family and make a positive impact on the Mooresville community at the same time? Adopt a dog, cat or other kind of pet from a local shelter! Many pets are still looking for their forever home and animal shelters are still working to fulfill adoptions and place pets with families. There are thousands of dogs, cats and other animals of all ages without a home in North Carolina — many of whom are located not too far from you. If you're on a search for a new four-legged companion, consider beginning at a local adoption center like Piedmont Animal Rescue, where Asher the cat is waiting patiently. If you aren't sure if you have time to take care of a pet year round, many shelters also offer opportunities to foster pets until they are placed.(Mooresville Patch)
