  1. Congratulations to Kirsten Lewis-Williams of Lake Norman. The high school senior is finishing her final year on high note. She was just chosen to compete in North Carolina Coaches Association East-West All-Star women’s basketball game, which will be held in July. Lewis-William who has reportedly committed to the University of Buffalo, had a fantastic senior basketball season helping to lead her high school team to the 4A West Regional championship. Congratulations Kirsten, good luck this summer and at college! (Mooresville Tribune)
  2. The Town of Mooresville has been recognized for having one of the best Main Streets. According to Town of Mooresville's Facebook page, "World Atlas says, 'Bustling with unique boutiques and restaurants, downtown Mooresville is more lively and active than any other main street.' The recognition pointed out the various events along Main Street annually, such as the Festival of Food Trucks, as well what the Town has to offer outside of Downtown, such as Lake Norman and hiking trails."   3. Are you looking to add a furry friend to your family? If so check out these animals up for adoption at the Iredell County Animal Services, which is located at 430 Bristol Drive in Statesville. All the animals have been spayed or neutered and are looking for their forever homes. According to that the Mooresville Tribune, "Dogs and puppies that have been in the shelter 30 days or more can be adopted for free and cats/kittens in the shelter longer than 20 days can be adopted at no cost. Otherwise, the shelter is offering a $20 adoption fee for cats. Regular fees are cats/kittens, $65, dogs/puppies, $80." The shelter will be closed on Saturday and Monday for the Memorial Day holiday.
