- If you’re hoping to add a fuzzy ball of four-legged love and affection to your household, you should check out these Mooresville area animal shelters for a pet up for adoption.
Millions of companion animals are taken in each year by adoption facilities nationwide, according to the American Society for the Prevention of Cruelty to Animals. However, only around half of all these animals are adopted each year, according to ASPCA data. This means millions of animals — some right here in the Mooresville area — are still waiting for their forever homes. With help from our friends at Petfinder, Patch has compiled this week’s list of animals available for adoption near you. Whether you’re looking for cuddles or companionship, one of these animals could be the perfect fit for your family. (Patch) - "Concussion-like" symptoms caused Kurt Busch to miss out on the two final races of the NASCAR season. According to ESPN, "Kurt Busch said Thursday he'll miss the final two races of NASCAR's regular season, bringing it to six races the 2004 champion has been sidelined with concussion-like symptoms. Busch said on Twitter. "This decision was not an easy one, but the right one." Ty Gibbs will continue to drive for Busch. The 19-year-old grandson of Joe Gibbs has been competitive in the launch of his Cup career as Busch's replacement." (ESPN)
- According to the Mooresville Tribune, "Arturo Marin-Sotelo is charged in the Aug. 11 killing of Wake County Deputy Ned Byrd, Sheriff Gerald Baker said during a news briefing. Lt.
