Here are the top four stories in Mooresville today:
- Mooresville Police are asking for the public's help in finding a 17-year-old girl who has been missing since Sunday. According to WCNC.com, "The Mooresville Police Department said Trinity Cross was last seen leaving her home on Oct. 30. The teen, who has a history of running away, left around 8 a.m. and hasn't been seen since, police said. She could be in the Mooresville, Cornelius or Huntersville areas. Cross is described as five feet tall. She has mid-back length hair that was half red and half brown when she left. She was last known to be wearing a white shirt, blue jeans and white or black slide sandals. Any person with information about the whereabouts of Trinity Cross is asked to call Mooresville police at 704-664-3311." (WCNC.com)
- Across the state and in Iredell County it has been reported that voters have received “notices” of their voting history. According to the Mooresville Tribune, "those mailers aren’t coming from the North Carolina State Board of Elections, and in some cases, the data doesn’t match voting records. Board of Elections Director Susie Jordan wants to make the public aware that these are not from the board of elections at the county or state level. The NCSBE sent out a similar notice about mailers sponsored by Voter Education Network Independent Expenditure PAC. The mailers instruct voters to contact the NCSBE if they believe their voting record is incorrect. This comes as a frustration to the State Board of Elections as they cause confusion among voters. “These mailers are confusing to voters and have resulted in numerous calls to the State Board at a critical time in the election cycle,” said Patrick Gannon, public information director at the state board. “We recognize the importance of efforts to encourage people to vote. However, providing inaccurate information decreases confidence in our elections, and encouraging voters to contact the State Board about their voting record from prior elections is unnecessary and stresses our limited resources.” (Mooresville Tribune)
- Bass Pro Shops and JR Motorsports have renewed their partnership for 2023. According to Speed Sport, "Bass Pro Shops will return to JRM in a multi-faceted capacity with drivers Dale Earnhardt Jr., Josh Berry and Carson Kvapil. The trio will compete in multiple racing series. The bolstered program kicks off on Nov. 19 with a does of Earnhardt family nostalgia in the late model action at Florence Motor Speedway."
