Here are the top three stories in Mooresville today:
- It’s a Mooresville sweep at the XC Wonder Relays! According to a Facebook post on the Mooresville High School page, "the girls team of Lauren Vanderpool, Ciarra Rockness, Ellery Bankirer, Alena Decker, and Ella Moore came in first for the girls race, and Michael Martinez, Garrett Green, Zeke Canas, Russell Beyer, and Clark Kremar won the boys race!" Congratulations students! (Mooresville High School)
- It has been announced that effective Wenesday, JR Motorsports and its director of competition, Ryan Pemberton are amicably parting ways. According to a SpeedwayMedia.com article, "Pemberton has been with JRM since 2012, overseeing car research and development and managing competition and personnel for JRM’s four NASCAR Xfinity Series teams. Under his guidance the team has won three NXS championships (2014, 2017 and 2018) and 58 races, bringing the organization’s tally to 67 victories to date. “Ryan has been essential to JRM’s success over the past decade,” said L.W. Miller, JRM’s director of motorsports. “We asked a lot of him when he came here in 2012, and he not only embraced the challenge, but he helped us right the ship. In the process, he laid the groundwork for a winning culture. Ryan’s given this organization a tremendous amount and I can’t thank him enough.” (SpeedwayMedia.com)
- As a result of the person left in charge of the home owners association allegedly threatening residents with a gun, Mooresville homeowners in one community are seeking to gain control of the HOA. According to a WBTV article, "[there is a] tense situation with the resident-owner representative on the HOA, Paul Harraka Sr. Neighbors described having to call police [about] threatening behavior like driving closely behind walkers and demanding proof of ownership in the neighborhood. Harraka’s next-door neighbor successfully filed a no-contact order against him, after video showed Harraka threatening to use a firearm and “put a bullet between (his) eyes.” While most neighborhoods with an HOA could simply hold a vote to remove a board member, residents at Waterfront at Langtree don’t have that ability yet. That’s because the developer, JRN Investments (which recently changed its name to JRN Development) maintains “Special Declarant Rights” that essentially allow complete control over who sits on the association board. JRN is controlled by Richard (Rick) Admani, who also runs several other developer entities across the Piedmont." (WBTV)
