MOORESVILLE, NC β€” Following the Mooresville Town Board meeting this week, the Mooresville Public Library was approved to expand and renovate for a west branch library.

The property is at 614 Brawley School Road and currently leased by Walgreen Co. The sublease between Mooresville and Walgreen Co. will allow the town to renovate and use the building as a west branch public library.

The sublease doesn't expire until 2030.

Mooresville is growing with some estimated projections estimating a population increase of 24,000 new residents before 2040. That would be a dramatic increase because the town had just 33,000 people in 2010. Now, at least 38,000 people call the town home and another library branch will help serve the growing city.
