Mooresville Man Arrested On Child Pornography Charges: MPD

MOORESVILLE, NC — A Mooresville man was arrested and now faces more than a dozen counts of felony second degree sexual exploitation of a minor, Mooresville Police Department said Thursday.

Michael Dale Bonds, 50, was arrested following the execution of a search warrant at a home on Daventry Place in Mooresville Tuesday.

The arrest follows a tip the department received July 14 from the National Center for Missing & Exploited Children that an unknown person inside the town limits of Mooresville was using various internet sites to upload videos of underage children engage in sexual acts and activity, MPD said.

MPD launched a forensic investigation into various internet sites and uploaded files associated with the report, which led to the execution of the search warrant on Daventry Place Jan. 12.

After processing several electronic devices found in the home, detectives charged Bonds with 15 counts of Felony Second Degree Sexual Exploitation of a Minor. Bonds was transported to the Iredell County Detention Center, where he was issued a $75,000 secured bond.
