  1. According to the Mooresville Police Department Facebook page, "in late 2022, Mooresville Police Department (MPD) detectives received information from the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children concerning an individual in Mooresville possibly being involved with possessing and disturbing child pornography. MPD Detectives — members of the Internet Crimes Against Children Task Force — began an investigation. As the investigation progressed, Detectives were able to obtain and execute a search warrant on the suspect’s residence, which resulted in the seizure of multiple pieces of evidence. Based on the evidence recovered, detectives arrested the suspect at his residence without incident on Friday. Michael Thomas Lowery, 28, of Mooresville, was charged with six counts of third-degree sexual exploitation of a minor and six counts of second-degree sexual exploitation of a minor. Lowery was placed in the Iredell County Detention Center under a $500,000 secured bond. " (Mooresville Police Department via Facebook)
  2. The Town of Mooresville is looking for one dedicated individual to serve on the Board of Adjustment. There are five, full-time positions and two alternate positions (one in Town limits and one in the ETJ). This board serves in three-year terms. According to the Town of Mooresville Facebook page, "[the Board] is seeking individuals that are available to come during the day for 2 p.m. meetings that generally occur no more than once a month with: • A background in business, legal, real estate, or other professional fields that deal with interpretation of written text and/or property issues. • Skilled in interpreting written text and able to judge situations in an unbiased manner. • Technical knowledge of following rules and regulations.   3. Kevin Harvick a revered NASCAR driver is retiring. According to the Mooresville Tribune, "Harvick said, " “It’s great to be able to go out on your own terms and plan it how you want it to go, but the biggest thing that sticks out to me is my kids. Being home with them and seeing the impact that you have with them when you are home, being able to be part of that daily process and be that father figure, it’s just time.” Harvick at the end of this season will turn his attention to Kevin Harvick Inc., his growing management business, the enjoyable time he’s spent in the television booth, some bucket list racing, and most important, his young racing family."
