- Mooresville Police Department's weekly Facebook highlight is about Bishop Terry B. Cherry. According to the MPD post, "After retiring from 30 years of service with Shepherds School System, Bishop Cherry chose to continue giving back to his community by joining Mt. Moriah Church in Mooresville as pastor. Bishop Cherry loves serving as chaplain to the [MPD]. He assists with calls and cases as needed, but Bishop Cherry also serves the department internally. Since 2016 he has been providing officers and staff a caring, listening ear. That is important for frontline workers who often face extremely stressful situations. Bishop Cherry completed the Billy Graham Law Enforcement Chaplain Training Program in March of 2022. He is continually looking for ways to serve his community and give back to others who give so much. Thank you, Bishop Terry B. Cherry, for all you do for Mooresville Police Department and for our community! MPD is lucky to have you on our team and in our community!" (Mooresville Police Department via Facebook)
- More houses on the market! On the hunt for a new home, and want the latest information on what's available near you? Perhaps you could use some assistance finding the perfect place for you and your loved ones? With our weekly list of new properties in your area, you can be sure you're not missing anything. Here's a list of the five most recent properties to go up for sale in the Mooresville area — including a home in the Troutman area with three bedrooms and two bathrooms for $363,900, and another with five bedrooms and three bathrooms for $675,000. - A Mooresville writer has penned a new book titled, “The Best Damned Driver in Montgomery County.” According to the Statesville Record & Landmark, "the book, written by Tom Poole is a collection of 13 short stories, some of which are loosely autobiographical. Listening to or reading Tom Poole is taking the bus to “back in the day,” a time of front porch neighborliness, kids with empty mayonnaise jars — holes punched in the lids — chasing lightnin’ bugs in the twilight and one-stoplight towns with intense football rivalries." From my notebook:
- Mooresville Police Department: "MPD wishes to thank Greg Harnish, who coordinated the Fusion Flood car show at GoPro Motorplex. Due to the generosity of the show participants, MPD received hundreds of toys, games, books and athletic equipment. MPD will distribute these goodies during the holidays at numerous events. Thank you Greg and all of the participants of the car show for their great kindness." (Mooresville Police Department via Facebook)
- Town of Mooresville NC: "Many thanks to all these departments for supporting Mooresville Fire-Rescue and Mooresville residents! " (Town of Mooresville NC via Facebook)
- Nextdoor Neighbor, Patterson Farm/Rustic: "Please help! Call 317-371-6674. He went missing ... off of Rustic Road. His name is Ringo. Super sweet dog. He doesn’t have a collar on." (Nextdoor)
