GATLINBURG, TN —Mooresville residents Dale Earnhardt Jr. -an auto racing legend - and his wife Amy Earnhardt have entered into a strategic partnership with Gatlinburg-based beverage producer Sugarlands Distilling Co., both parties announced this past weekend.

Ahead of Saturday's NASCAR Playoffs race at Bristol Motor Speedway, Sugarlands and the Earnhardts announced the company's Electric Orange Sippin' Cream is being rechristened Dale and Amy's Electric Orange Sippin' Cream.

According to a release, the 40-proof beverage combines bright, fresh orange zest with the smooth taste of vanilla cream and will remind drinkers of "an orange sherbet push pop that you used to grab from the ice cream truck on the sidewalk."

Sugarland, which launched in 2014, has partnered with racing entities and other sports figures in the past. According to the release, the brand partnered with Bristol Motor Speedway earlier this year to release a limited-edition corn whiskey commemorating the track's 60th anniversary. The company also has released previous versions celebrating Daytona International Speedway and Talladega Superspeedway.

Sugarlands also has partnered with country music performer Cole Swindell and baseball Hall of Famer Chipper Jones on a line of beverages. The company said it also has produced a special moonshine lemonade in partnership with the Ryder Cup.

"Few names are as synonymous with racing in America as Earnhardt, and we're honored to welcome Dale and Amy to the Sugarlands family," Vickers said. "We're thrilled to add their names to our Electric Orange Sippin' Cream and can't wait to collaborate with both Dale and Amy on future releases."

Patrick Sullivan, Sugarlands' chief revenue officer, said he expects product sales to grow thanks to the partnership with the Earnhardts.

"Teaming with the Earnhardts further integrates Sugarlands into the racing community while expanding our already diverse partnership portfolio," Sullivan said. "Collaborations with names as recognizable as Dale Jr. and Amy help strengthen the Sugarlands name with customers while providing tremendous value for our retail partners."
