  1. According to the Mooresville Police Department Facebook post, "Mooresville Police Department can serve our community through the support of many individuals who may not currently wear a uniform. One of these individuals is Leigh Walther. One of the first things you’ll notice about Leigh Walther is that she loves dogs. LOVES them. Around MPD, she’s known as Aunt Leigh or Leigh the K9 Whisperer. As the wife of Sergeant Dan Walther who leads MPD’s School Resource Officer team and is a K9 handler for K9 Bella, the Walthers are often called on to dog sit for MPD K9s while their handlers are out of town.Walther is not only a Blue Line Spouse, but she is also a former police officer of 10 years. She currently serves as a full-time special investigator for a large insurance company. Thank you, Leigh Walther, for all you do! MPD is lucky to call you a Blue Line Spouse, Aunt Leigh, and a member of our community!" (Mooresville Police Department via Facebook)
  2. Mooresville's Piedmont Animal Rescue has taken an injured dog that was left on the side of the road into its program and will be overseeing its recovery. According to a Statesville Record & Landmark article, "the dog's owner, Bethany Marie Beaver, 21, is facing a felony animal cruelty charge. She was issued a $15,000 bond. The charge against Beaver comes about a week after the dog was found near Abington Road and Valley View Circle. The dog was suffering from a laceration. A tip led to Beaver’s arrest, according to a news release from Caldwell County. The injury was described as severe but Caldwell County authorities said the dog is expected to fully recover following surgery." (Statesville Record & Landmark)
  3. A new electronics repair shop, Asurion Tech Repair & Solutionsâ„¢, has opened in Mooresville at 124 Argus Lane in the The Village at Byers Creek.
