Here are the top three stories today in Mooresville:

  1. Michael Brandon Shinn, 29, of Sherrills Ford was arrested in June for forcible sex crimes when two victims came forward in the Mooresville area. Now more victims have come forward. “We don’t have the exact number yet,” Mooresville Police Captain J.L. Quinn said in a CBS17.com news article. “Because (more) victims are coming forward at this time.” Detective J. Talbot said authorities still believe Shinn has more victims. Shinn reportedly met his victims online, made plans to meet in person and then assaulted them in his car or in a parking lot. “If you or someone you know experienced similar incidents with Shinn, you are encouraged to contact the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office," Talbot said. 2. After a month-long undercover investigation, the Mooresville Police department arrested 29-year Yael Alexander Aguilar of Charlotte in a drug bust on September 22. MPD received information in late August about a suspect who was transporting and distributing large amounts of illegal narcotics into the area. According to WCCB Charlotte, "based on the information, detectives began an investigation during which they were able to confirm the information and identify the suspect. After being arrested, Aguilar was transported to the Iredell County Jail where he was given a $50,000 secured bond on the charges from MPD detectives and a $100,000 secured bond on the charges from the NCSHP."
