Here are the top three stories today in Mooresville:
- The Mooresville Graded School District has been awarded $616,000 in funding from a $400,000 North Carolina lottery-funded grant award for needs-based school construction. Superintendent Dt. Stephen Mauney said of the award: “Mooresville Graded School District is excited and thankful for these capital outlay funds. These funds will allow us to complete much-needed projects at two of our schools.” (HC DPI)
- Yesterday, the Mooresville Police Department brought their Safe Routes to School program to Park View Elementary. Officers helped third graders practice basic bike safety skills and taught students to ride a bike. MPD Sergeants Taylor and Dingler taught and supported these students all throughout the event. - Two prominent Mooresville town commissions will be meeting this week. Tonight at 6:30 p.m. the Environmental Protection Commission at Town Hall. Tomorrow, May 5, the Historic Preservation Commission will meet at 6:00 pm at Town Hall. Residents are welcome to attend. (Mooresville Gov)
