🌱 Needs-Based School Award + Upcoming Commission Meetings

Here are the top three stories today in Mooresville:

1. The Mooresville Graded School District has been awarded $616,000 in funding from a $400,000 North Carolina lottery-funded grant award for needs-based school construction. Superintendent Dt. Stephen Mauney said of the award: “Mooresville Graded School District is excited and thankful for these capital outlay funds. These funds will allow us to complete much-needed projects at two of our schools.” (HC DPI)
2. Yesterday, the Mooresville Police Department brought their Safe Routes to School program to Park View Elementary. Officers helped third graders practice basic bike safety skills and taught students to ride a bike. MPD Sergeants Taylor and Dingler taught and supported these students all throughout the event. 3. Two prominent Mooresville town commissions will be meeting this week. Tonight at 6:30 p.m. the Environmental Protection Commission at Town Hall. Tomorrow, May 5, the Historic Preservation Commission will meet at 6:00 pm at Town Hall. Residents are welcome to attend. (Mooresville Gov)
